Abstract
1530203 Electrostatic precipitator DART INDUSTRIES INC 23 April 1976 [19 June 1975] 16643/76 Heading B2J An electrostatic precipitator comprises, in a generally circular cylindrical housing having a vertical axis, a series of concentric circular cylindrical collector electrodes 18 having in terposed therebetween respective concentric circular cylindrical discharge electrodes 34 the collector electrodes 18 being mounted or a base 16 disposed above an air inlet at the lower end of the housing and the discharge electrodes 34 being suspended from radia arms 32 extending from the top of a column 24 which is disposed on the central vertical axis and supported on the base 16, and a hood 48, which is disposed on the housing above the electrodes 18, 34, carries a water conducting manifold 44, see also Fig. 3, which has a number of delivery tubes 58 extending therefrom to water distributing conduits 60 carried by the upper edges 62 of the collector electrodes 18, the conduits 60 having outlets 64 to supply water to the sides of the collector electrodes 18. As shown, the manifold 44 comprises four interconnected radial arms which are angularly offset from the discharge electrode support arms 32, and the delivery tubes 58 are flexible and each has its respective valve 54 with an adjustable barrel 56 for regulating the water flow to each collector electrode 18. The hood 48 may be provided with a manhole and cover (76, 78), Fig. 1 (not shown), to permit access to the water manifold 44 and its associated valves 54 for effecting the adjustment thereof. The air inlet (12), Fig. 4 (not shown) may comprise a tangential duct, with straightening vanes (14) being provided in the air-flow path before the electrodes.
