1482885 Gas/liquid contact plate KRASNODAR POLITEKHNICHE INST 10 Dec 1975 50576/75 Heading B1R A plate for gas/liquid contact mountable in a column 8 comprises a disc 1 having slots for the passage of gas, the edges of the slots being provided with deflectors 2 which direct the gas upwardly at an acute angle to the surface of the disc and also tangentially therto, and on the upper liquid receiving surface of the disc a plurality of deflector strips 7 extending as Archimedean spirals from the centre to the edge of the disc and bent in the direction of gas flow from deflectors 2. A liquid receiving bowl 5 and an annular decantation pocket, to allow liquid to fall to the next plate, are provided at the centre and edge of the disc respectively.
