Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the reaction efficiency of gas by increasing the mass transfer rate on the gas side by a method in which the flow of gas is directed against the surfaces of plate catalysts having protrusions thereon so as to disturb the flow of the gas forcibly.
CONSTITUTION: Both sides of the plate catalyst 1 are provided with the linear projections 2 of a V-shaped cross section at regular intervals at a right angle to the flow 5 of a gas, and then the plate catalysts 1 are alternately stacked one by one in such a way that the edge lines 3 of the projections 2 are intersected at a right angle to each other to form a plate catalyst assemblage.
