Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a honeycomb structural body having high contact efficiency, by cutting a honeycomb body into platelike pieces, and after that, combining them so that the groove directions of the respective adjacent pieces are not aligned, and laminating them.
CONSTITUTION: Plural honeycomb platelike pieces 1 are obtained by cutting a honeycomb body by 2 planes parallel to each other orthogonally or diagonally in its groove direction. Subsequently, a honeycomb structural body is formed by combining these plate like pieces 1 so that the groove directions of the respective adjacent pieces are not aligned, and laminating them. As for this honeycomb structural body, since a gas flow is curved, it becomes an effective catalyst even if a catalyst metal to be supported is a little, and also it is used for an absorbent, etc., too.
