Abstract

1525473 Ventilating ships engine rooms SVENSKA FLAKTFABRIKEN AB 5 Sept 1975 [9 Sept 1974] 36760/75 Heading F4V In an elongate engine room of a ship including one or more internal combustion engines 2, a ventilation system comprises four vertical ducts one in each corner of the engine room, each duet having a fresh air intake including a fan and four outflow openings 12a, 13a, 14a, 15a, and a system of conduits 21 separate from the ducts and supplied with air by one or more fans 22, the conduits 21 having nozzles 16, 17 for inducing flow of the fresh air around the engine room, the nozzles 16 being directed longitudinally of the engine room and the nozzles 17 being directed transversely of the engine room. The nozzles are disposed below platforms 5a, 6a, 7a.
