Abstract
1520906 Collapsible containers DAINIPPON PLASTICS CO Ltd 16 Oct 1975 [19 Oct 1974 22 Oct 1974 20 Dec 1974] 42437/75 Heading B8P [Also in Division F2] A collapsible container is formed of panels of high-density polyethylene or of polypropylene and each panel, including the lid and the base, are detachable. The panel connections are of the general form shown in Figs. 5-7 in which one panel edge has recesses in which is mounted a pin 29 and the adjacent panel edge has bearing portions 31, 32 having grooves which engage one side of the pin on an elastic piece 34 which engages the opposite side of the pin. Engaging faces 35, 36 enables the connection to resist outward pressure on the walls. The base 2, Fig. 13 is secured to a side wall by a pin 45 and elastic piece 49 and at the opposite edge by engaging members 13, 24. The lid 55 is pivoted to a pin 60 in one side wall 4 and at its opposite edge 59 is snapped past a rod 63a in the side 4a. Projections 53 on the lower edges of the walls facilitate stacking of the containers. The empty containers can be packed flat with the base 2 lying between superposed sides 4, 4a.
