Abstract
1519878 Wind turbines G W WEBSTER 17 Feb 1977 [17 Feb 1976] 06115/76 Heading FIT A wind turbine plant comprises a curved duct 1 having an inlet 2 and an outlet 4 the latter containing rotor blades 8 mounted on a vertical shaft 5 and supported at their tips from fixed structure, e.g. by engagement of rollers 9, 10 with guides 12, 13. Modified blade supports are described. Shaft 5 passes through the duct wall at 6 to drive a generator or pump 7. The duct support frame 14 is mounted on rollers 15 for adjustment into wind.
