Abstract
The generator has a propeller type wheel (2) on a horizontal shaft at the top of a wind tower (3). each propeller blace (4) is fixed on a radial arm extending from the hub of the wheel so that the blade can pivot about the arm to take up its correct aerodynamic angle. The arms extend beyond the blades and support a crown wheel (5) surrounding the impeller. A platform (9) near the top of the tower carries several electric generators (8). Each has a shaft (7) which carries a pinion (6) which engages in the crown wheel (5) surrounding the impeller.
