Abstract

Yaw trimming in large wind turbines is achieved by pivotally mounting the blades 6 to the turbine hub about teeter axis 39 such that blade movement into and out of the wind results in an adjustment in blade pitch relative to wind direction. Yaw imbalance of the hub resulting from vertical wind velocity gradients is thus minimised.
