Abstract

1511811 Expanding wheel gear NORLETT AS 24 June 1976 [25 June 1975] 26310/76 Heading F2D A disengageable expanding wheel drive for a motorized cultivator comprises a countershaft pulley 9 with axially fixed outer flanges 10 and a freely axially movable double inner flange 11, connected by respective V belts 12, 13 to invariable input and output pulleys 2, 3, and carried by a shaft 8 on an arm 6, slidable longitudinally only on an arm 4, which can be turned by a control lever 14 about a fixed pivot 5 to vary the speed ratio, whilst maintaining constant the sum of the centre distances between the countershaft pulley 9 and the pulleys 3, 4, the drive being disengageable through a Bowden cable 16, which slides the arm 6 along the arm 4 towards the pivot 5 against a spring 18, thereby slackening the belts.
