Abstract

The transmission for a vehicle include a belt pulley system allowing continuous variation of speed ratio. It includes two pairs of split pulleys (1, 2, 3, 4) each pair connected by a belt loop or chain loop. There is a common input drive shaft (7) to which one of each pair of pulleys (1, 4) is keyed. The output pulleys (2, 5) are respectively keyed to another shaft (8) and a coaxial sleeve (9). A planet gear (10) system is attached to this shaft and sleeve. The actual planet gears (13) are engaged between the annular (12) and sun gears (14), and in turn lead to an output shaft (14).
