Abstract

1510049 Tumbler dryer RINNAI KK 10 Dec 1976 [15 April 1976 19 April 1976] 51761/76 Heading F4G A tumbler dryer comprises a casing 1 enclosing a tumbler drum 2 and heating means, e.g. combustion chamber (4) in the base of the casing, see Fig. 2 (not shown), the casing having an apertured door 23, and an air inlet 19 remote from the heating means. The air passes down round the drum, some entering a mixing chamber 30 at 14 and the rest entering it via the chamber (4) and a duct 15. The air mixture is then passed via 16, 18 to the drum at openings 17, leaving the apparatus at 23. A motor 26 drives the drum and a fan 5, and it is stated that the respective flows of heated and unheated air into the chamber 30 may be controlled to adjust the temperature. Sealing engagement between the drum 2 and the casing 1 at 9, and the mounting of the drum 2 by a ballbearing 13 in the rear wall 12 of the casing, are described in detail with reference to Figs. 3, 5 (not shown).
