A weighted sphere a is freely mounted on ball or other bearings i at diametrically opposite points, the bearings being mounted on adjustable hollow trunnions f and supporting the sphere by thrust. Fig. 1 shows a construction as fixed to a vertical member of the aircraft. The pointer d is extended to the top of the sphere if the instrument is to be fixed to an horizontal member.
