Abstract
1505735 Cremation furnaces; heating air for combustion TABO INDUSTRIUGNAR AB 21 Feb 1975 [21 Feb 1974] 7316/76 Heading F4B In a waste consuming furnace, e.g. a cremation furnace, comprising a combustion chamber lined with heat accumulation material and having a base 5, side walls 1 and a roof 2, primary combustion air supplied by a fan 9 is preheated on passing through an arrangement of ducts or passageways 10 which are in heat exchange relationship with the roof and side wall linining of the combustion chamber. As shown the passageways 10 are formed within the brickwork comprising the roof and side wall lining, but in an alternative embodiment (Fig. 2, not shown) the primary air is passed through an arrangement of pipes (11) in heat exchange relationship with the outer surface of said chamber roof and side wall. Insulation 3 is provided on the outside of the walls and roof of the combustion chamber, and a shell 4 encloses the furnace. Burners and secondary air supply ducts (both not shown) are provided. Waste gas ducts 6 located below the combustion chamber lead to a flue gas outlet 7 provided with an adjustable damper 8. Further ducts or passageways (not shown) for primary air may be provided in conjunction with the duets 6 to remove heat from the waste gases.
