Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve higher thermal efficiency by disposing a gaseous material circulating means between a heat feed chamber provided with an indirect heater and a heat treatment chamber, a partial circulating means for combustion exhaust gas of the indirect heater, and in-furnace gaseous material exhaust means, etc. in the metal heat treatment furnace. CONSTITUTION:The metal heat treatment furnace 1 which is divided to a heat feed chamber 2 provided with an indirect heater 5 provided with a burner 6 at one and commucating with a chimney 8 at the other end and a heat treatment chamber 3 for a metal body 4 by means of a partition plate 14 is so constituted as to be operated, in the case of not requiring indirect heating of the metal body 4, by opening dampers 11, 13 and closing 12 to circulate combustion gas between the heat feed chamber 2 and heat treatment chamber 3 by way of a pipe 9 and fan 7 and exhaust part thereof through an exhaust pipe 10 to increase the temperature of the gaseous material and enhance the heat transfer efficiency to the metal body 4 and, in the case of requiring indirect heating, by closing dampers 11, 13 and opening 12 in the same manner as in conventional methods. It is equally well to circulate part of the combustion gas from the indirect heater 5 into the furnace 1.
