Abstract

1500978 Casting HITACHI METALS Ltd 16 June 1975 25622/75 Heading B3F A casting system for moulding a plurality of products along a runner 4 comprises a sprue base 3 having its bottom positioned above the lowermost portions of moulds 6 disposed along the runner. Molten metal is poured into the sprue 1 and passes through a strainer 2 positioned above the parting line 7 of the mould, the sprue base 3 and the runner 4 and into the moulds 6 through ingates (not shown). The ascast blanks are laid on a vibrating device for breaking of the ingates from the runner. In another embodiment, the strainer is positioned in the runner.
