Abstract

1497531 Propellent compositions NITROCHEMIE GmbH 21 Oct 1965 [22 June 1965] 44684/65 Heading C1D A solid propellant comprises ammonium perchlorate and a polyester resin or polyvinyl chloride, and contains also, in order to increase the burning rate, 0À01-5% by weight of a cyclopentadienyl iron compound, e.g. ferrocene, and/or 0À3-5% by weight of a polysiloxane resin. The polyester may be obtained by reaction of maleicfumaric acid with ethylene glycol; styrene and methyl acrylate may also be included, together with methyl ethyl ketone peroxide and cobalt naphthenate. A propellant made with polyvinyl chloride also includes copper chromite, lecithin, tin mercaptide, and dioctyl sebacate or adipate. Other ingredients of the propellent compositions referred to are aluminium, magnesium, and boron powders, organometallic compounds, active carbon, carbon black, sulphur, and nitroguanidine.
