Abstract
Improvements in the manufacture of a pyrotechnic lacquer, especially suitable for making ignition compositions for propergol blocks and charges for gas generators, characterized by being made up of a dispersion of: a) - a pyrotechnic composition in finely subdivided form, chosen from the group comprising aluminothermic powders (mixtures of potassium perchlorate and aluminum powder), termites (mixtures of potassium perchlorate, iron oxide, and magnesium), black powder, zirconium-based powder - barium chromate - ammonium perchlorate - ammonium cyclorate, in b) - a collodion containing a powder based on nitrocellulose or plasticized nitrocellulose, or a mixture of nitrocellulose and nitroglycerin, in solution in a volatile solvent of said powder, especially a ketone solvent such as acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, or a plastic material dissolved in an organic solvent, especially polyethylene dissolved in trichlorethylene, polyvinyl chloride dissolved in methyl ethyl ketone, or a cellulosic polymer dissolved in ethyl acetate, in a proportion of 5 to 99.5% by weight of the pyrotechnic composition for 95 to 0.5% of collodion, preferably 40 to 60% by weight of the pyrotechnic composition for 60 to 40% by weight of collodion .
