Abstract

A percussion-ignitable deflagrating composition, for use in driving fasteners into solid materials, comprises a mixture of PETN and tetrazen, the latter being present in an amount of from 5 to 40% by weight of the PETN. Preferably the composition is made into pellets by compressing the mixture which has been granulated by adding acetone. The composition may also be in the form of a powder or a jelly and may be provided with an inflammable coating of nitrocellulose lacquer, paraffin, gelatine, or polymeric compounds which may be nitrated.
