Change - speed gearing; differential rotation of wheels, permitting by slip of driving connexions. - An expanding pulley which allows differential rotation of the road wheels is mounted on the rear axle, one flange e being fixed to one road wheel, while the other flange f slides on a square part of the shaft or axle i to which the other road wheel is fixed. Change of speed is effected by moving the flange f. When the pulley is opened right out the belt runs on the rim of a loose disk m.
