Differential gearing. - One half-axle 1 of a motor vehicle is always positively driven through bevel gearing 17, the other 2 being driven through a friction clutch 59 which slips when the axles tend to rotate at different speeds, as on a curve. The inner clutch member 59 is enclosed by the two parts of the outer member 11 which are bolted together and to the gear wheel 17.
