Abstract

1489525 Winches E SKOUGAARD 20 June 1975 [25 June 1974] 26373/75 Heading B8B An apparatus for hauling in the two ropes of a seine fishing net comprises two parallel rope storage drums 3, 4, between the axes of which a pair of warping drums 5 are positioned such that they project beyond the ends of the storage drums, the incoming ropes passing from the warping drums 5 over guide pulleys 12, 13, 14, 15 to control rollers 9, 10, for guided deposition on to the storage drums 3, 4. The control rollers 9, 10, traverse the storage drums in relation to rotation of the latter, under the control of mechanisms 11. The storage drums 3, 4 guide pulleys and control rollers are mounted on girders 2 supported by a base structure secured to a fishing boat. The base structure includes a triangular prismatic housing 6 extending between and below the two storage drums 3, 4, the housing supporting a common shaft for the two warping drums 5 and acting as a storage chamber for hydraulic fluid used in power transmission for the apparatus. Water from the hauled-in ropes drips between the drums 3, 4 on to the said chamber to facilitate cooling of the contained fluid. A pump driven by the boat engine, supplies within said prismatic housing, a warping drum shaft motor which supplies a pump driving the rope storage drums during hauling-in and braking the drums during paying-out.
