1487924 Supporting cables PITCRAFT Ltd 4 March 1975 [11 May 1974] 20925/74 Heading B8B [Also in Division E1] An accommodation channel for power supply hose to a mining machine hauling itself along a conveyer by driven means on the machine engaging a conveyer-mounted rack bar 7 having spaced pockets 10 in which are housed pegs 11 that are displaceable in the pockets along axes running laterally of the longitudinal axis of the conveyer, the channel being formed by providing each pan 2 of the conveyer with at least two spring steel legs 16 that are spaced from one another and from the adjacent side wall 1 of the pan, are connected by their lower ends 15 to a lower portion of the pan or said adjacent side wall 1 or to a spill plate 5 secured to said side wall 1, and are spanned at the upper ends by a back plate 18 located opposite or substantially opposite the rack bar 7. With this construction of accommodation channel those pegs not in association with the drive means will lie in the pockets 10 of the rack bar so as to close off the top of the channel. Preferably the conveyer pan has the spill plate secured to the side wall 1, the lower ends 15 of the legs 16 are bolted to a clevis rail 13 secured to the spill plate and the upper ends of the legs 16 are entered into recesses 19, 20 in the back plate 18. Two accommodation channels may be provided on the conveyer pan by a double arrangement of legs and back plates. The continuity between adjacent back plates of adjacent pans is provided by a finger 21, 22 projecting from each end of each back plate, with one finger projecting from the upper edge and the other finger 22 projecting from the lower edge of the back plate.
