Abstract

1,195,698. Knitting-machines. WILLIAM COTTON Ltd. 30 Nov., 1967 [8 Dec., 1966], No. 54905/66. Heading D1C. A rib transfer bar conveyor in a straight bar machine comprises a train of carriages 3, 4 driven round a track 14 by successive connection of the carriages to a drive. T the track extends across the front, back and one side of the machine, at which a loading station is located. The carriages are interconnected by links 26, and in one embodiment are driven by engagement of pegs 39a with a driven endless chain 64 whose lap is longer than the spacing of the nearest pegs or adjacent carriages. Alternatively the carriages may be driven by a linear induction motor.
