Abstract
1,240,450. Mineral-mining machines. COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS) Ltd. 23 June, 1970, No. 30441/70. Addition to 1,229,238. Heading E1F. The mineral-mining loop chain cutter machine of Specification 1,229,238 is modified in that there is now associated with the upper and lower runs of the cutter chain guideway guide rails that are secured to the guideway and sprocket-supporting frame of the machine and are embraced by slide members on the chain. Preferably guide rails 36, 38 are provided on either side of each run of the guideway, whilst only one guide rail 42 or 44 is provided about the outer arc of each sprocket. The slide members have parts 34 for engaging the rails 36, 38 and parts 40 for engaging the rails 42, 44. The rails 36, 38 overlap the ends of the rails 42 and 44.
