Abstract

1485360 Lamp supports; floodlamps T I SIMPLEX (LIGHTING) Ltd 19 Aug 1974 [18 May 1973] 23844/73 Heading F4R [Also in Division F2] A floodlamp comprises a parabolic reflector 11 secured by a sealing ring 13 to a ribbed lens 14 adapted to spread the beam of light emitted by the lamp. The rear end of the reflector is secured to a ring 17 having four equi-angularly spaced integral bosses 19 and provided with clamping screws 29 adapted to engage in keyhole openings 28 in a flange 25 on a lamp bulb holder casing 16 to secure the casing to the reflector. The bosses 19 have holes 20 to receive a pair of screws 32 which serve to secure a V- shaped part 30 of a mounting bracket to the lamp, the screws being engageable in any pair of adjacent holes so that the lamp can be secured to the bracket in at least two alternative positions at right angles to one another. The part 30 has a boss 31 pivoted by a bolt 35 to one end of an arm 33, the bolt being fixed in the boss and carrying a clamping nut 36 and a lock nut 37 by means of which a link 39 is adjustably clamped to the boss. The link carries a bolt 40 engageable in a hole in the arm 33 so that the correct angular setting of the lamp relative to the arm 33 can be restored after the lamp has been removed from the arm for servicing and subsequently replaced in position. The boss 31 is clamped to the arm 33 by a cap nut 38. A mounting plate 34 is formed at the other end of the arm 33 and serves for attaching the lamp to a scaffold pole 44, using U-bolts 45, or to a structure (not shown) using a single bolt 46.
