Abstract

1484748 Life-saving garments SOC INDUSTRIELLE DES ETABS PIEL 10 July 1975 29160/75 Heading B7U A life-saving garment, Fig. 4, has flotation means 20 hinged to the front thereof along a line 20a which has two inflatable compartments 21, 22, Fig. 5, separated by a membrane 23. The compartment 21 is automatically inflated by a device 25 and the compartment 22 is inflated by mouth through a tube 26. The garment is of flexible, water-proof, thermal insulating material and has closure means round an opening 2 through which the wearer enters. Opposite sides of the opening 2 are stiffened and after entry the opening is closed and rolled as shown at 1f in Fig. 3. A brightly coloured apron 13, Fig. 3, is provided over the flotation means in which the garment may be rolled, Fig. 1 (not shown).
