Abstract

1483846 Valves H D BAUMANN 20 Aug 1975 [26 Aug 1974] 34581/75 Heading F2V A rotary valve plug 6 having a frustospherical head 21 is eccentrically mounted, on a shaft 7, with respect to an adjustable seat ring 5. The shaft 7 is mounted in a yoke 4 comprising end rings 17 and connecting ribs 20. The mounting permits small axial movement along the shaft. The centre line A of the bore 35 in the seat ring is slightly off-set from the valve centre line B so that the seat may be adjusted for close mating with the head 21 of the valve plug by rotating the seat ring with respect to the yoke 4 in which it is mounted, the axial movement of the valve plug also assisting. The valve is operated by an actuator 31 through a stem 26 which engages in a pin 8 carried by two ribs 24 attached to the pivoting limb 22 of the valve plug. The stem flexes in operation to allow for the change in effective length of the ribs 24 as the valve is operated. A screw 40 provides an adjustable stop path valve plug.
