Abstract

1481185 Armrests STAL & STIL AS 27 Nov 1974 51495/74 Heading A4J The armrests 4 of a chair are pivotably and slidably engaged on a carrier member 5 fast with the seat portion 1, locking of the armrests in a desired position being achieved by movement of a pivotably mounted lever 7. As shown (Fig. 1) the chair is supported on castors and is adjustable for height and backrest position. The vertical portion of carrier 5 is telescopically received in a vertical tube concealed within the armrest, the lower end of the tube terminating in a clamping sleeve (8), Fig. 5(not shown). A bolt (10) with triple screwthreads is secured at (11) to the lever 7. Nut (14) may be restrained from rotation with respect to flange (12) by engagement with a complementary recess in the flange. The recess may be formed by pressing nut 14 on to the flange. Alternatively the carrier 5 may be gripped by an eccentric clamping device on the armrest tube.
