1361531 Height adjustable column for chairs; stools; stands or tables PARNALL & SONS Ltd 4 Jan 1973 [25 Jan 1972] 3410/72 Headings A4H and A4J An adjustable support column for adjusting the height of the seat or back-rest of an officetype chair or the height of a stool, stand or table comprises a solid stem 10 telescopically slidable within a hollow column 11 and held against rotation relative to the column by the engagement of a head portion 17 on a threaded boss 14 with a key-way 13 in the stem and releasably held against sliding relative to the column by a clamping screw 18. The key-way is tapered so that downward pressure on the stem causes wedging action against the screw.
