Subaqueous audible signals. - The alternator supply circuit of an electro-magnetic sound-transmitter, especially for subaqueous signalling, is tuned to the working frequency, which is also the natural frequency of the transmitter, by a condenser 9. This enables a smaller machine to be used, and either broader resonance is obtained or else, by constructing the transmitter to have less than the normal mechanical damping, greater efficiency is obtained with the normal breadth of resonance. The power curve of the arrangement with relation to frequency is of the form shown in Fig. 2, with a depression at the tuned frequency, and by working on an ascending portion of this depression the alternator runs with good speedstability. The transmitter is polarized by a direct-current winding in a circuit 6, 7.
