Subaqueous sound signals.-In sending or receiving devices for subaqueous sound signalling, the diaphragm 3 carries a stud 4 on which the tube 5 is screwed. The plate 9 which carries one part of the magnetic system is screwed on the tube 5, and the other part 8 is an extension of the outer tube 7. According to the construction shown, the laminated magnet and armature are of triangular form, each section being formed of laminations 10 approximately radially disposed and driven into place between cheeks 11 and afterwards secured by welding at the corners, as indicated at 12, Fig. 1. The magnet system is excited by a single coil 13 arranged as nearly concentric with the tube 5 as possible and attached by holders 14 to the plate 9 so as to be suspended without touching the iron of the electro-magnet. A head 15 excludes water from the electro-magnet.
