Abstract

124,814. Wilding, H. R., and Bossini, R. F. April 17, 1916. Receiving audible signals.-Relates to apparatus particularly adapted for detecting rhythmical sounds such as those produced by an internalcombustion engine or propellers. The appliance comprises a diaphragm 3 contained in a casing 1 and connected by a rod 17 to a reinforcing tuning- fork 15. The other end of the rod is connected to the movable electrode of a microphone G secured in an extension of the casing. The second leg of the tuning-fork forms an armature to an induction coil 22 secured within the horn 12. The electric connexions are shown in Fig. 2, the microphone 6 being in series with the primary coil 24. and the telephone 26 with the secondary. The diaphragm and tuning-fork may be employed withwithout the microphone or induction coil.
