Abstract

1477163 Photo-copying CANON KK 2 Aug 1974 [3 Aug 1973 8 Aug 1973] 34235/74 Heading G2A In a method of photo-copying using a photosensitive member comprising an insulating layer on a photo-conductive layer, the member is (a) uniformly charged, (b) imagewise exposed before, during or after uniform charging of opposite polarity of that of the primary charge, or uniformly discharged with A.C. and (c) exposed to a projected grid image. In a multi-colour line-by-line copier in which colour separation images are formed successively on a photo-conductive drum 14 having an outer insulative layer and are transferred successively in superimposed manner to a printing drum 50, each colour separation image is formed on drum 14 by the successive steps of (a) charging using D.C. charger 15, (b) projection of the colour separation image, using a colour filter disc 20, through an A.C. discharger 11 to point 12 and (c) projection of a grid image, using a respective one of a number of rotary grid cylinders 21-24 in which the grids are in discord with one another, as shown in Figs. 2-4, and a mirror 29, to point 16. Mirror is rotatable to select a particular filter cylinder.
