Abstract
147,693. Genety, L. Jan. 9, 1919, [Convention date]. Spray carburettors. - The ratio of air to fuel is maintained at a desired value by modifying the air pressure existing at the jet orifice J bv means of a baffle P. The baffle is practically perpendicular to the air flow, is not necessarily flat, and serves to increase the pressure at the jet orifice. Specifications 10115/13, 2670/14, 22657/09, and 128,284 are referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes also means for providing a slight excess of fuel when accelerating such means comprising an airtight chamber C communicating with the induction passage A on the engine side of the throttle valve B through a tube T open to the atmosphere at S<1>. The level of fuel in the chamber C during normal running is at N<2>. Upon closing the throttle valve B, the suction at S and therefore in the chamber C increases, causing the fuel to rise as at N', thus providing an additional head of fuel to give an augmented supply when the valve B is again opened. This arrangement compensates for the difference in inertia of the fuel and air which usually produces a lag in the fuel supply. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
