Abstract

1472750 Clamps EMCO WHEATON UK Ltd 5 March 1973 [7 Dec 1973] 56926/73 Headings E2A and E2B [Also in Division F2] A collar 11 for use in holding together flanges disposed on two pipe ends at a pipe joint (see Division F2) comprises three arcuate members 12 articulated together by means of links 13 and pins 14 and secured around the pipe joint by an over-centre toggle mechanism 16 with a handle 17, the handle being held in its closed position by a pin 22 removable when it is derived to effect quick release of the joint. In Fig. 5 the toggle mechanism is actuated by a hydraulic cylinder and piston which upon operation to release the collar 11 will shear the pin 22.
