Abstract

1351273 Clamps DRAGERWERK AG 7 Jan 1972 [7 Jan 1971] 885/72 Headings E2A and E2B [Also in Division F2] A clamping device for clamping together two annular flanges 2, 4 comprises four clamping sections 8 to 11, each of arcuate quadrant form and each having a U-shaped cross section, first and -second longitudinally adjustable connecting means connecting the clamping sections together in pairs and first and second pivotal connections which connect the clamping sections together in pairs and which are displaceable to a limited extent. Hydraulic cylinders and pistons 14, 15 and 16, 17 pivotally connected to projections 13, 12 on the sections and pivot pins 18, 19 slidable in slots 21, 22 formed in members fixed to a part 3 secured to the flange 4, connect the sections together. The movement of the sections outwardly is limited by stops 24 on straps secured to the part 3. The flanges are guided into contact by projections 25 on the part 3 and are sealed by a ring 7 in an annular recess in the flange 4. The clamping device may clamp together the flanges of a diver's compartment and a decompression chamber.
