Abstract

735,271. Barrel clips. K.A.C., Ltd. Sept. 9, 1953, No. 24986/53. Addition to 732,442. Class 44. [Also in Group XXVIII] In a pipe joint, the pipe flanges are drawn together by contraction thereon of an articulated channel-section clamping ring, a swivel block 13 on an end segment 1 of the ring having aT-bolt 16 slidable non-rotatably in a transverse bore therein. The bolt has an adjusting nut 20 and a sleeve 22 bearing on the block, and its head carries links 25 which are pivotally connected to a toggle lever 27 intermediate its ends. The lever has notches 30 which engage pins 31 of an anchorage block 32 on the other end segment 4 of the clamp which is tightened when the lever is moved to a position alongside the segment 4. The lever may be locked by a split pin engaging holes 35, 36. The segments may be hingedly connected at 8, or they may be carried by a spring band 42, Fig. 5, the ends of which have loops 43, 44 carrying the blocks 13, 32. The segments 38 attached to the band may be pressings having beaded edges 41, or they may be similar to those shown in Fig. 2.
