Abstract

992,910. Grab buckets. POCLAIN. March 25, 1964 [May 7, 1963], No. 12636/64. Heading B8H. A grab bucket, comprising two jaws 2, 3 pivoted at 4, 5 to a frame 1 and interconnected by a link 16, is opened by retracting an hydraulic ram 8 which is pivoted at 6 to the frame 1 and at 12 to a lever 10. The lever 10 is connected to the jaw 2 by a link 14 and is pivoted at 11 to the frame 1. In a second embodiment, Fig. 2 (not shown), the link 16 is omitted and a second lever is connected at its ends by links to the jaw 3 and to a fixed point on the frame 1 and is pivoted at 12 to the ram piston rod.
