Abstract

1472301 Exhaust gas recirculation ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 6 June 1974 [7 June 1973] 25108/74 Heading F1B [ Also in Division H1] A rotary cam switch is coupled to the spindle of a butterfly valve (not shown) in the induction manifold of an internal combustion engine to control an exhaust gas feedback system in dependence upon the angular position of the valve. The cam plate 10, Fig. 1, is drivingly coupled to a sleeve 3 secured to the valve spindle (not shown) via a finger 7 integral with the sleeve 3 which projects into a cut-away portion 8 in the cam plate 10. A radial projection 11 of the cam engages a feeler 12 on a snap-action spring blade arm 14 to operate contacts 15, 16, controlling an electromagnetically operable injection valve for the exhaust gas feedback system. The circumferential length of the projection 11 renders the exhaust gas feedback system effective in the part load operating range only and cuts it off when idling or under full load. The cam plate 10 has a further cam slot 25 engageable with a follower 26 to move a spring blade contact 22 step-wise between fixed spring blade contacts 18, 19, through an intermediate non-contacting position.
