Abstract

1471776 Valve gear for air cooled IC engines TATRA NARODNI PODNIK 14 Aug 1974 35800/74 Heading F1B [Also in Division F2] Valve gear for an air cooled I.C. engine comprises a rocker arm 4 pivoted by means of a ball- and-socket to a retaining bolt 7 threaded to a shaft 8, which, in turn is threaded at its lower end to the cylinder head 2 near the valve seat. The rocker box comprises a base 17 bolted to the cylinder head, and a cover 20 secured to bolt, 7 by a nut 21, a soft rubber gasket 27 being interposed between the cover and base. The shaft 8 passes through a passage 24 where it is cooled by air to minimize expansion.
