147,016. Caproni, G. May 17, 1919, [Convention date]. Planes, arrangement of.-A triplane has its planes braced by vertical and inclined struts as shown instead of by struts and cross-ties. The planes are connected together by vertical struts 13-20 and by inclined struts 23, 24, 26, 27, 23', 24<1>, 26<1>, 27' connected to the central plane at the points 25, 25', 30, 30<1>. The struts preferably have forked ends embracing the plane spars to which they are pivoted. Struts 5, 6, 7, 8 are employed at the centre of the structure, and cables 32, 32<1> connect the planes to the landing chassis.
