584,369. Folding vehicles; wheels and axles. GENERAL AIRCRAFT, Ltd., and LEATHER, G. B. June 4, 1943, No. 9021. [Classes 108 (i) and 108 (ii)] A foldable trolley or undercarriage, provided with means, such as clamps 21, for detachably mounting a stretcher, comprises two. wheelcarrying legs 1 forming part of a frame-work with two transverse members 4, 18, spacing legs 1 and themselves spaced by longitudinal members 10 and inclined pivoted struts 8; the transverse members 4, 18 are foldable at the middle in a horizontal plane to fold the legs 1 close together after detaching the upper ends of struts 8 from pivots 22 and disconnecting the fastenings of the members to brackets 5 carried by legs 1. The joint between the parts of transverse member 4 is locked by a detachable pin 7a. The wheel-carrying parts 2 can be turned in legs 1 through 180‹ to bring the wheels closer together, releasable locking-means being provided; provision is also made for adjusting the wheels into a position transverse of the trolley. A V-shaped member 23 is pivoted at its upper ends to the transverse member 18, a joint 25 being provided at the apex and cables 26 for connecting member 23 to struts 8. Compression springs are provided in legs 1 for the wheelcarrying parts 2. Specifications 559,398 and 573,956, [Group XXXIV], are referred to.
