Abstract
1469999 Valves HOKE Inc 10 June 1974 25671/74 Heading F2V A valve assembly, e.g. for use in a flow metering installation, Fig. 1 (not shown), comprises a body 22, Fig. 3, having first and second inlets 18, 17, first and second outlets 20, 19, a first conduit 16 connecting the first inlet with the first outlet, a rotary valve 12, a second conduit 40 connecting the first conduit to the valve, a third conduit 51 connecting the second inlet with the valve and a fourth conduit (50), Fig. 4 (not shown), connecting the second outlet with the valve. The valve member 44 has a passage 47 and is rotatable through 180 degrees from a first position in which it communicates the second and fourth conduits 40, (50), to a second position in which it communicates the third and fourth conduits 51, (50). In use, when the valve is in the second position it communicates the inlets with their respective outlet whereby pressure tappings taken from opposite sides of a Venturi (7) or orifice plate in a gas pipe are communicated via the valve assembly with the inputs of a differential pressure indicator (2) of a flow metering installation, and when in the first position it communicates the first inlet with both outlets for zeroing of the indicator. The valve member is rotated to its zeroing position by a remotely-controlled air motor receiving air via a solenoid valve, and is returned to its normal operative position by spring means. The conduits 16, 51 may be provided with manually-operable valves 10, 11. In an alternative embodiment, Figs. 7 to 9 (not shown), the valve 12 is replaced by a ball valve (61) which is rotatable through only 90 degrees, as by a motor or a handle (78).
