Abstract

1468665 Containers MI ENGINEERING Ltd 16 May 1974 [5 June 1973 3 Nov 1973] 26647/73 and 51139/73 Heading B8P A framed I.S.O. tank comprises end frames connected by longitudinal members 5 and at least two pairs of side mounting assemblies secured to the members 5 and to arcuate portions of hoops or bands 7 welded round the tank shell S. Each end frame comprises top and bottom members (1), Fig. 2 (not shown), side members 2 and corner members 3, the connections between the longitudinal members 5 and the end frames being reinforced by gussets 6. Bracing members 14 are also provided along with diagonal bracing members (16) for the end frames, which may be welded to collars (15), Fig. 6 (not shown), projecting from the ends of the tank shell S. The side mounting assemblies comprise hollow sections 8 and profiled plates 9, with end caps 12 to close the assemblies.
