Abstract

1,234,724. Transport containers. WESTERWALDER EISENWERK DR. PAUL GERHARD K.G. 21 Feb., 1969 [27 Feb., 1968; 14 Nov., 1968], No. 9454/69. Heading B8P. A transport container tank for liquid or flowable solids is formed of curved wall sections 18 secured within and braced by a support frame 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. The frame has corner fastening fittings 6 and is braced by intermediate struts 8, 9, The corner struts 1 may be of various sections (Figs. 11-14, not shown), and so may the intermediate struts 9 (Figs. 17-19, not shown). The walls 18 of the sides and top and bottom are outwardly cambered and secured to the struts for strength. Those walls of large extent may be subdivided and braced by stiffeners 19 welded on from outside, Fig. 4, or integral curved wall-portions may be used inside or outside the container (Figs. 15, 16, not shown). The top and bottom have stiffeners 25, 28 respectively. The stiffeners may be hollow and used to carry a heating medium for heating the tank. There may be internal subdivisions 30 and the parts in contact with the load may be of stainless steel.
