Abstract

1,159,908. Shipping container. A. POHL. 11 June, 1968, No. 27596/68. Heading B8P. A knock-down shipping container comprises a roof 3 hinged to a front wall 2 and also connected by double hinges 9 to a rear wall 5, in the position shown, the hinges 9 providing a gap between the rear wall and the roof, the top edge 16 of the rear wall having an upwardly directed flange 16A overlapped by a downward rim 4 around the roof, wheels 17 at the lower end of this front wall running over the top edges 15 of hinged end walls 6 of the container as it is erected. The container may be erected by a winch 11, &c., a line from a second winch 14 being passed through the gap between the rear wall 5 and the roof 3 to facilitate handling the rear wall.
