Abstract

1,017,016. Boxes and cases. SEIDNERS Ltd., [trading as SEAGULL PRODUCTS]. Nov. 11, 1964 [March 25, 1964], No. 12673/64. Heading B8P. A travelling or like case having a hinged lid has the case sides, &c. 3, 4, Fig. 2 (not shown), connected at their edges by an extruded beading 5 of plastics material formed with slots 6, 7 for the sides, to which they are welded by a high-frequency process along their outer surfaces 12, 13 so as to exclude wet, &c. The beading is provided with an internal protuberance 8 to stiffen the case, and an external rib 9 to protect the case sides from scratches, &c. The case sides, &c. 3, 4 are either made from a plastics material, or are covered with such a material. In Fig. 1 (not shown), a case is illustrated having its bottom 1 secured to integral side walls 2 by the beading 5, and provided with a lid 3 connected to its skirt 4 by the beading.
