Abstract

1293750 Bulk containers; pallets, cradles RFD-GQ Ltd 22 July 1971 [22 July 1970] 35539/70 Headings B8H and B8P In a bulk container which comprises a flexible bag 2 and a collapsible framework 1 having four side portions 3-6 and a plywood floor panel 7 to which the base of the bag 2 is permanently attached, the side portion 6, sections of side portions 3 and 5, and the floor are hinged so that they can be folded against the side portion 4. The bag is supported in its extended condition within the framework by engagement of apertured strips (25, Fig. 5) projecting from around the top of the bag with studs 27 arranged around the top of the framework. To collapse the container the empty bag is disengaged from the studs 27 and folded on to the floor 7, the side portion 6 is then folded down to overlie the bag 2 as shown in Fig. 3, the floor 7, bag 2 and side portion 6 are next folded inwardly and upwardly against the side portion 4, and finally the sections of the side portions 3 and 5 are folded inwardly about hinges 23 to lie against the floor 7. The bag includes an upper filling aperture (8, Fig. 5) closable by a screw cap (9) and a lower discharge outlet 10 with a valve 12. Channel members 24 for receiving the tines of fork lifts are secured to the floor 7 and rings may be provided at the upper ends of corner stanchions 14.
