Abstract
1468436 Vacuum packaging SUDPACK VERPACKUNGS-GmbH & CO 29 May 1974 [8 June 1973] 23753/74 Heading B8C A vacuum package, comprising goods 21 contained in a sealed and evacuated plastics film tube or bag 12, is subjected to a heat treatment to heat seal contacting layers of the film to one another over their entire area of contact at the package margins 15. The heat treatment may be effected by passing the package through a heat shrink tunnel, a hot-water bath or an atmosphere of steam. In a shrink tunnel jets of hot air are directed on to one or both faces of the margins and in the latter instance the jets are controlled to maintain the margins in suspension. The plastics film may be heat shrinkable.
